The Hart 4

The Farnham 4 was one of 200 teams competing in the recent Hart 4 – a 4 hour relay race for teams of 4 on a 4KM undulating off-road course through grasslands and the woods of Minley Manor, Hampshire.

On a beautiful sunny day, runners enjoyed the festival type atmosphere created by the organisers, Hart Road Runners. The race village was filled with tents and gazebos, offering shelter to the many runners waiting for their team mates to complete their laps, on site catering provided a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks and a PA system played music and gave updates throughout the day.

There were three team categories; male, female and mixed with prizes awarded to the first, second and third teams in each category. There was also a separate category for any team whose combined ages added to over 200 years!

Team Farnham 4 comprising Helen Bracey, Linda Tyler, Lousie Granell and Clair Bailey completed 12 laps in an overall time of 4 hours, 1 minute and 33 seconds and finished in 7th position out of a total 32 female teams.

“It was an excellent, brilliantly organised and thoroughly enjoyable race and we’ll definitely be back next year”.

commented Linda Tyler.
