Covid-19 update:

  • Members should be aware that it is their personal responsibility not to turn up to the activity if displaying any of the Covid-19 symptoms as outlined in the UK Government guidance.
  • Club runs from the clubhouse will resume from Wed 4th August. From 1st October some runs on the first Wednesday of the month may start from different venues, as during Covid-19. It will be necessary for members to sign up for these on Facebook.
  • Monday and Tuesday coached sessions – to ensure safe coach/athlete ratios, it will also be necessary to keep signing up for these.

Monday evenings at 6:30pm at Aldershot Military Stadium.

Why do it?

Speed and interval training will develop technique, strength, speed and speed endurance.

All standards of runner are welcome as the session is adapted to meet all capabilities.

When?

Sessions are held throughout the year, with the benefit of floodlighting during the winter months, every Monday evening from 18:30 to 19:30 except for these dates:

  • 27th December
  • 3rd January
  • 7th March
  • 11th April

Members are welcome to use the outside lanes to warm up from 18:00.

In addition, members are invited to use the outside lanes on the track on Friday evenings from 18:00 to 19:00

To give an idea of what we do, this is a typical session:

  • Warm up
  • Slow run around the track
  • Dynamic stretching drills
  • Advice on technique
  • Main session
  • Timed running at speed alternating with recovery
  • Pyramid session
  • Repeated laps with a recovery between each
  • Cool down
  • Slow run around the track
  • Stretching
