About the league
Courses are a mixture of woodland trails and parkland and are usually not usually more than 5 miles in length.
Men and women compete in the same race with the first 4 men and first 4 women from each club scoring points. All abilities take part and even non-scorers can affect the result by getting ahead of scorers from other clubs.
Racing in this league is more about friendly competition and making sure everyone enjoys the events. One feature of this friendly atmosphere is that each host club provides refreshments after each event while the results are prepared and presented.
Note that men who have run faster than 5:30 minutes per mile pace and women who have run faster than 6:00 minutes per mile pace in a measured road race of 5 miles or more in the twelve months prior to the first race of the season are ineligible for any race in this league. This converts to 10k times of 34:11 – men and 37:17 – ladies.
