Fleet Half Marathon
Farnham Runners Press Release - 19/3/06
John Applebee punches that air in jubilation as he completes three laps of the Fleet Half Marathon course. He is supported at the finish by fellow Farnham Runners Jane Adams and Helen Scullard.
Displaying will power of seemingly superhuman proportions, John Applebee completed THREE laps of the 25th Fleet Half Marathon organised by Fleet and Crookham Athletics Club on Sunday. Starting before 6.30am he had already run a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles before the official start time. He still managed to finish inside 2 hours 30 minutes on his final lap and was still standing after the finish! All his efforts are part of his training for the Comrades 56 mile marathon in June and to raise funds for Leukaemia Research.
