HRRL Lordshill

At the Hampshire Road League race at Lordshill the club representatives showed only a momentary lapse of enthusiasm as they sat inside a cafeteria viewing the wind and rain outside before the race. These blustery conditions, combined with a few hills made good times difficult. Never-the-less Dan Smith achieved an excellent time of 1.02.17 for 27th place.

Steve Murphy (1.05.49, 51st) took 5 seconds off his recent Great South Run time, when conditions were much more favourable. David Lloyd found the second race in two days hard (1.10.10, 111st), while Nick Hill returned to the racing scene (1.11.45, 121st). Andy Tweed used the race as preparation for his forthcoming Luton Marathon (1.14.22, 147th), followed by the enthusiastic Don Melvin (1.21.27, 220th).

Susanna Ching was the only female club representative and she was pleased to take 3 minutes from her PB (1.29.40) before setting off next day on a trip to Everest base camp.
