Park runs

Jean Drummond recently celebrated joining a small number of Farnham Runners who have completed 250 park runs. She was the third member of her family to do so, along with her husband Robert and son Christopher Cramp.

They have joined a small but growing number of Farnham Runners who have now completed over 250. Mike Anderson was the first to achieve this milestone and has now done 302, while Tim Cummins has clocked up the most with a colossal 372. Terry Copeland has completed 339 and Colin Addison, and Geoff Brown have also earned the prestigious 250 parkrun T shirt.

Various races

Stuart Haig was delighted with his first podium finish – third place at the very challenging Queen Elizabeth Country Park Marathon with an excellent time of 3:25:22. The route consisted of two laps, each with 500m of ascent. John Walker clocked 4:18:34. The other Farnham Runners competitors were Kate Townsend and Clair Bailey who tackled the half marathon route in 2:17:47 and 2:34:28 respectively.

John Walker flew the flag for Farnham in the recent Barcelona Marathon with a new PB by 12 minutes. His time: 3:34:38.

In preparation for forthcoming spring marathons, six Farnham Runners ran the Cranleigh 21. Keith Marshall celebrated a victory in the M60 category, his time of 2:40:55 almost 12 minutes ahead of the second M60. Ali Hardaway in 2:48:14 was 7th in his category, while Linda Tyler took 2nd F55 in 2:59:27 and Craig Tate-Grimes also finished under 3 hours. Hallam Foster and Carolyn Wickham recorded 3:00:20 and 4:16:06 respectively. Chris Cramp eased back into racing after injury, recording 1:58:37 in the 15 miler.
